We have Higher Rights Advocates in all proceedings in the Criminal Court such as the Crown Courts and Appeal Courts. Our Advocates have over 20 years of experience in representing clients in the Higher Courts in serious offences such as Murder and Rape with a very high success rate. 

We represent clients both on a private fee basis and Legal Aid as we have Legal Aid franchise in Criminal Defence but Majority of cases in this group is covered by Legal Aid also known as Representation Order. This means that the client does not have to pay us for the services rendered unless he or she does not qualify for Legal Aid.

The cases that are not covered by Legal Aid are mostly Motoring offences and our charges are as stated below.

MOTORING OFFENCES

Fees and Funding 

Motoring offences such as speeding, Drink driving, using mobile phone. Our fees are as stated below. The fees are charged with VAT at 20% on top.

Motoring Law fees and costs

  • Representation fee at court: Single Hearing – from £250 plus VAT 
  • Taking instructions and preparation work from £200 plus VAT.

Court Appearances (Guilty Pleas) Fees differ depending on your instructions and plea.

  • Representation fee at court: Single Hearing – from £250 plus VAT
  • Taking instructions and preparation work from £200 plus VAT.

Court Appearances (Not Guilty Pleas) These cases tend to be complex and require more work. 

  • Representation fee at court: Single Hearing half day from £350 plus VAT
  • One day Trial from £600.00 plus VAT
  • Taking instructions and preparation work from £300 plus VAT per hour for Senior Solicitors and recently qualified up to 3 years Solicitors £250. Caseworkers £200.00 an hour plus VAT

Fee includes Initial telephone consultation, considering evidence, taking instructions, providing advice on plea and likely sentence, promptly confirming your instructions, advice and outcome in writing, attendance and representation at the initial hearing at the Magistrates Court, provided the case is concluded on the same day and advice on appeal.

 

The fee does not include the instructions of an expert, obtaining third party statements, advice, assistance in relation to a special reason hearing and appeal preparation and hearings.

 

Disbursements

 Disbursements are costs related to payments to the third parties, such as Court fees and instructions of an Expert witness. We handle the payment of the disbursements on clients’ behalf to ensure a smoother process.

Defence- General Crime.

You may be eligible for Legal Aid /Representation Order to be represented in either the Magistrates or the Crown Court cases as stated below.

To be eligible for Legal Aid, you must either be unemployed or in receipt of benefit or your income is too low for you to pay for the services of a Solicitor/Barrister to represent you in Court.

Also, if your case is such that you are found guilty, you will lose your liberty either sent to Prison or ordered to do unpaid work in the community.
