Experience and Qualification

Our Firm has specialist Solicitors and Advocates in Criminal Law matters. Kehinde Atanda a Partner in the firm is a Solicitor and an Advocate of the Higher Courts. He has the right to appear in Higher Courts in England and Wales. He has over 24 years’ experience in Criminal Defence matters and his exceptional Court room skills have secured great outcomes for those he has represented.

 As an advocate, he has represented clients at the Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal he has led some of his cases. His has a wide range of experience in matters such as Homicide (Murder and Manslaughter) serious Fraud, Rape, Child abuse, Immigration offences, and Motoring offence amongst others.

 He is also accredited to represent clients in the Police station when they appear to be interviewed under caution

 Olatokunbo Atanda is a Solicitor Advocate who has also represented clients in both the Magistrates Court and Crown Court as an Advocate and a Solicitor. She has over 20 years’ experience in this area of Law.   She is accredited to represent clients in the Magistrates Court when they are due to be interviewed under caution

 In the Firm, we have other Solicitors, Barristers and caseworkers with a wealth of experience in this area of Law representing our clients both in the Magistrates Court and higher Courts.  

 The Firm has a Legal Aid contract in Criminal law matters and is able to represent clients who qualify for Legal Aid also known as Representation Order in the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court.

 We represent clients both on a private fee basis and Legal Aid as we have Legal Aid franchise in Criminal Defence but the Majority of cases in this group is covered by Legal Aid also known as Representation Order. This means that the client does not have to pay us for the services rendered unless he or she does not qualify for Legal Aid.

 The cases that are not covered by Legal Aid are mostly Motoring offences, our charges are as stated below.

MOTORING OFFENCES

Experience/ Fees and funding

Motoring offences such as speeding, Drink driving and using a mobile phone while driving . Our fees are as stated below. The fees are charged with VAT at 20% on top. 

As stated above, Kehinde Atanda and Olatokunbo Atanda are experienced Solicitors and Advocates who have dealt with many motoring offences such as Drink Driving, Speeding and using a Mobile phone whilst driving just to mention a few examples. They can represent and assist clients if we are instructed.

 Apart from the above mentioned, we have other Solicitors and Case workers with great experience in Motoring offences who can assist and represent you in Court.

Motoring Law fees and costs

  • Representation fee at court: Single Hearing. The chargeable fee for a Solicitor of 4 years’ experience and above is £250.00 per hour plus VAT which is chargeable at 20 percent on the £250.00.  
  • Solicitors of less than 4 years’ experience hourly chargeable fee is £200.00 plus VAT which is chargeable at 20 percent on top of the £200.00. 
  • Trainee Solicitors and Caseworker chargeable hourly rate is £180.00 per hour plus VAT which is chargeable at 20 percent on top of the £180.00. 

The fees quoted above do not include the instructions of an expert, obtaining third party statements, appeal preparation and appeal hearings.

 

Disbursements

Disbursements are costs related to payments to third parties, such as Court fees and instructions of an Expert witness. We handle the payment of the disbursements on clients’ behalf to ensure a smoother process.

 

Defence- General Crime.

You may be eligible for Legal Aid /Representation Order to be represented in either the Magistrates or the Crown Court cases as stated below.

To be eligible for Legal Aid, you must either be unemployed, or in receipt of benefit, or your income is too low for you to pay for the services of a Solicitor/Barrister to represent you in Court. Also, if your case is such that you are found guilty, you will lose your liberty either sent to Prison or ordered to do unpaid work in the community.
